President's Message

It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I thank you all for bestowing the honour of National President on me for 2017/2018.

It is 50 years since the first National President ROI took office. This was from 1966/1967, Doris Mc Namara, S.I. Limerick. In 1967/1968 Beatrice Grosvenor, Killarney Club took office. This is quite a co-incidence, as a Limerick woman I was still living there 1967 and moved to Killarney 1968.

We are so proud as I am the fourth member of S.I. Killarney to serve as National President. Beatrice was also Federation President. I served on the Executive for six years as National Treasurer and I have done two more years as Vice President and President Elect.

If I can achieve a fraction of what these women and indeed every woman that held office on the Executive achieved. I will have done what I set out to do.

My Theme
EMPATHY

The ability to understand and share the feelings of others

Review - Report - Reward

Review all the wonderful work done by those that went before me and try to update Club data and other relevant matters.

Report on all the great projects being carried out by our members locally and nationally. Unfortunately, we are a group who do not give ourselves the credit we deserve.

Reward those who have given tirelessly to Soroptimist above and beyond in their clubs, in society and among the people of the world.

We must work as a TEAM and as a TEAM

Together Everyone Achieves More
and as Barack Obama said ‘YES WE CAN”
