SOROPTIMIST FRIENDSHIP WEEKEND DROGHEDA 2015.

On the weekend of 25th – 27th September, over a hundred Soroptimists from around Ireland and the United Kingdom gathered at the dHotel, to celebrate Drogheda woman Margaret Geraghty’s year as Ireland’s National President.

With the focus on friendship and learning, the delegates attended a very important workshop to discuss the causes and effects  of violence by men against women, had tours of the many historical sites in the vicinity and enjoyed a really splendid dinner,  at which the guest speaker was Drogheda woman Alison Comyn,  to round off Saturday.   An Ecumenical Service of Unity, delivered by Margaret’s brother, Rev. Kevin Duffy, held in the hotel on Sunday brought the weekend to a close.

President of Soroptimist International, Drogheda, Geraldine Flynn, said that the Club was delighted to have had the opportunity to welcome so many visitors to the town in such wonderful weather.
